Trusted Thinking Partner

I have spent my career working in environments where the questions matter as much as the answers. Pharmaceutical R&D taught me that progress rarely comes from certainty, but from good judgement applied consistently in complex systems.

Over more than two decades at GSK, in senior leadership roles across discovery and development, I was repeatedly asked and responsible for outcome to step into situations where the science was strong, the data landscape evolving, and the organisational path unclear. Those experiences shaped how I work today: reflective in how I listen and think, and decisive in how I help others move forward and decide. I work best in conversations that are thoughtful, honest, and grounded in real experience.

Through Arēte Pharma Coach, I work with senior leaders in pharma, biotech, and healthcare in two distinct but complementary ways. I have been trusted to operate at the intersection of science, data, technology, and organisational decision-making where strategy meets accountability.

My coaching work is personal and confidential. I partner one-to-one with leaders who carry significant responsibility and want space to think clearly about decisions, leadership style, relationships, and the pressures that come with senior roles. I bring empathy for the reality of those positions, ask thoughtful questions, and help clients strengthen their own judgement rather than borrow mine.

Leaders typically contact me when the stakes are high, the situation is ambiguous, and they need a trusted, experienced perspective to think clearly and decide.

My strategic advisory work draws on deep experience at the intersection of science, data, technology, and organisation. Here, I work with leaders on R&D strategy, data and AI, biomarker platforms, governance, and collaboration models at the enterprise scale. The focus is on framing choices, understanding trade-offs, and making deliberate, well-founded decisions that can be sustained over time.

Across both, my role is the same: to help experienced leaders identify what truly matters, think it through properly, and then act with confidence. I am known for listening carefully, challenging when it is useful, and being clear when clarity is needed.

Arēte reflects my belief that excellence is not performative. It shows up in how leaders think, decide, and lead when there is no script. I work quietly, seriously, and with respect for the responsibility my clients carry — helping them do their best work when it counts.

I hold a PhD and an MPhil from the University of Cambridge as well as a Diploma in Public Health from Imperial College London and spent over twenty years in senior scientific and leadership roles at GSK. I have led international, cross-functional programmes spanning discovery through development and was recognised as a GSK Fellow for scientific leadership and sustained contribution.‍ ‍
